After Decameron

Open Space Contemporary, London

Spring 2020

Published writing

In Spring 1349, the Black Death ravaged the city of Florence, killing thousands of people and leaving an apocalyptic atmosphere. Ten young Florentines decided to take refuge in a secluded villa in the countryside, and to amuse themselves by each telling a story a day for the ten days they are destined to remain there. Open Space Contemporary’s project, curated by Riet Timmerman, invited artists, curators, and writers to contribute stories, poems, thoughts, memories, to create a contemporary After Decameron together during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
