We tell stories all the time, in so many ways, we hardly think about it. “What did you get up to last night?” you ask in the morning. “Why did you climb in through the window?” and “where did you get those bite marks?” The answers are stories.

White Rabbit Lies explores relations between materiality and storytelling, presenting artworks that incorporate narrative devices and share themes of memory, personal myth-making, and influences of magic realism. Underlying, unspoken storylines of time passing, belief and longing, and the fragility of life, are embedded in a mise-en-scène of fragments. Each piece resonates, in its own way and with others, on a narrative level.

The stage is set for you to unravel manifold stories. The invitation is to enter and move through the scenes; search for narrative traces and invent new interpretive depths beneath the surfaces and symbolism of everyday objects and contexts. The exhibition begins with our own narrative projections in written fragments, awaiting your rewrites or endings.
